24 Week Update

Every day, I feel more and more pregnant. I am currently in my 25th week of pregnancy, so at the end of this month, I will be in my third trimester! It's hard to believe it's already been 5 months. This week Joe and I have been able to feel Baby Kendall from the outside. Most of her movements are right below my belly button, and she has been very active lately, especially in the morning! Hopefully she will continue to stay on the right day-time, night-time schedule, unlike me when I was a baby. (So I hear from my Mother :) )

This week, baby has grown to be just over 9" in length, and the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" app on my phone compared her to be the size of an ear of corn. Baby Kendall's skin is now turning more pink due to her forming blood vessels that are now filling with blood.

Yesterday, we had another check up with Dr. Sal and she gave me a verbal "gold star" on weight gain, blood pressure and tummy measurements. So far, I am on the right track as far as everything physical goes. Baby's heartbeat was 146 bpm which is perfect! In three weeks, we will have another doctor's appointment where they will do another ultrasound and a glucose test to check for gestational diabetes, (which I'm not looking forward to) so I will update everyone on that as well.

Joe and I are still working on planning out the nursery. We know what we want to do, we just haven't started yet, but I guess we still have plenty of time to get it done. We have finally completed our registries at Baby's R Us and Target, but I'm sure I will continue to modify things as time gets closer. There was so much to choose from and so many extras that you don't need, it was hard to decide and make a list. Who knew registering would be stressful ha ha!

This is my 24 week and 2 day belly picture. In the future, I will try not put 3-4 weeks in between each of my new blog posts. Sorry about that!

20 Weeks-The Halfway Point'

I am now slightly past the 20 week mark and halfway there!!! I had another doctor's appointment last Friday, and things are going wonderfully. The doctor checked weight, blood pressure and the baby’s heartbeat (145 bpm) which is perfect! Dr. Sal says that Joe should be able to feel Baby Kendall moving very soon, meanwhile, she has been kicking away and has been very active lately. I am starting to notice her bubbly movements more and more.
As far as I go, I am right on track with my weight gain and I am feeling pretty good for the most part. I seem to have more energy than the first trimester, but I do get tired in the afternoons (which could be due to the summer heat). Joe and I have a lot to do in the next few weeks to prepare for Kendall's arrival in just 4 months! We have begun to clean out the “soon to be” nursery, as well as closets in the house and started getting rid of junk to make room for all of the stuff we will soon have! I'm sure November 18th will be here before we know it.

What an exciting and happy time!
